Abstract
475,105. Wireless transmitting systems. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and GEORGE, D. F. May 12, 1936, No. 13473. [Class 40 (v)] Keying of a high-frequency telegraph transmitter is effected by varying the screen potential of a tetrode or other screen-grid valve without substantially affecting the total high-tension feed. The control grid 9 is supplied with high-frequency voltage over condenser 11 and the screen grid 14 is connected to potentiometer resistances 15, 16, the keying contacts 18 connecting a point 19 on resistance 15 to earth. The point 19 is so chosen that when the contacts 18 are closed the valve is biassed to cut-off and the total current flowing from the high-tension supply remains unaltered.
