Abstract

474,561. Collapsable tubes. QUITTNER, H. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4739. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1936. [Class 66] A collapsable tube body 1 formed by winding paper is provided with a lining 8 of elastically yielding, chemically resistant material such as rubber latex. The end 2 of the tube is upset on a mandrel and inner and outer discs 3, 4, the latter preferably being of metal foil, are attached thereto by adhesive, a shoulder piece 5 formed of artificial resin or metal and provided with a threaded neck 6 being inserted. The lining 8 is then produced by pouring latex through the tube, and the open base end is closed by folding &c. The exterior may be given a waterproof coating. Latex is preferably employed as adhesive in the attachment of the parts together. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 432,321.
