[Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] The heads, comprising the neck and shoulder portions, of collapsable tubes made from paper, millboard, &c. are formed in one piece with the body or skirt, the neck being reinforced by a pressed-on, moulded, or otherwise attached annular member of metal, synthetic resin, cardboard, &c. which holds the head of the tube in shape. The reinforcement may comprise a ring 3, Fig. 2, which shows the externally threaded neck 7 as having an integral or attached lining member 6, which may be of any desired sectional form, and the shoulder 2 formed with inwardly projecting ribs 21. Fig. 4 shows a reinforcement consisting of a wire helix 8 covered with paper &c. 9 and serving for the attachment of a screwed cap. In the form shown in Fig. 10 the threaded reinforcing member 11 is provided with a part 18 fitting inside the neck 7, both parts having extensions 19, 20, disposed respectively over and under and anchored to the shoulder 2. Fig. 12 shows a construction to take an internally fitting screwed plug. In Fig. 13 the outer and inner parts 25, 26 are formed separately and beaded together at 27. The body portions of the tubes may be coated with varnish, fabric, metal foil &c. to render them gas or liquid-tight, and metal foil &c. may be inserted between the plies of which the bodies are formed.
