Abstract
474,179. Electric heating resistances for electric discharge devices. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Oct. 2, 1936, No. 26774. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1935. [Class 39 (iii)] The cathode 4 is heated by current passed through a layer of hard carbon 7 deposited on the inside of the tube, Fig. 3, or deposited on a thin ceramic rod 1 arranged in the tube, Fig. 1. Terminal caps 3 are arranged over graphite or metal coatings 2 provided over the ends of the layer. The carbon deposit is obtained by the decomposition of benzole vapour in a furnace in which are arranged the tubes or rods to be coated. Heating of the layer is effected at 1000 C. for a certain period of time after deposition.
