472,571. Knitting-machines. WIRTH, [nÚe Richter], E. H., DONNER, [nÚe Wirth], H. D., LOSCHNER, [nÚe Wirth], J. M., and WIRTH, E. H. Oct. 26, 1936. No. 29083. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1935. [Class 74 (ii)] A warp rib machine has guide needle machines, including guide needles 4, to which single or double lapping movements can be imparted by atlas and plating cams on shafts 1 and 16 respectively, each cam driving or oscillating a lever 7 or 21 that can be operatively connected to the guide needle machine shaft 3 by means of a clutch. To effect the double lapping movement the speed of the plating cam is increased by means of eccentric and elliptical gears 14, 12 and during this lapping operation the speed of the machine may be reduced by gears 33, Fig. 6, engaging segmentary gears 37 on the cam-shafts.
