Abstract
472,386. Handle - bars. ANDERSEN, A. J. April 20, 1937, No. 11298. [Class 136 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVIII] Direction indicators for bicycles are housed in the channel of a U-section handle-bar, the indicators being operated by rotation of the handles. The handle-bar 1 is formed of U- section metal (see Fig. 3), to which shafts 2, on which handles 3 are rotatably mounted, are welded. Shafts 4, which carry the direction indicators 9, pass through the shafts 2 and are attached to the handles 3 so that the indicators can be swung into exposed position by rotation of the handles. Flats on the shafts 4 enable the indicators to be locked in operative and inoperative positions by the spring clips 5.
