Abstract

A partly manufactured safety fuze is treated with a cementing and impregnating composition consisting of 7 parts of glycol cellulose, 93 parts of sodium hydroxide solution of 7\ba1/2\be per cent concentration, 0,07 parts of a dispersing agent known under the registered Trade Mark "Perminal" and 56 parts of china clay. According to a modification, 7 parts of the glycol cellulose are mixed with 93 parts of 7\ba1/2\be per cent caustic soda solution and chilled to -8 DEG C. with stirring until crystals of ice appear, after which the mass is allowed to warm up sufficiently to become homogeneous and 56 parts of china clay mixed therewith to form the varnish.
