[Class 74 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXVI, I, XXV, and XXVIII] A cable, hose pipe or the like comprises a covering, armouring, reinforcement or conductive sheath, consisting of helically wound metal strip of braided or plaited bare wires, such strip having one or more inextensible elements such as wires or cords embodied in the mesh or weave and extending longitudinally thereof. The strip may comprise twisted, stranded or bunched fine wires 11 forming a selvedged braid, inextensible cords being introduced into the mesh at one or each selvedge, or centrally of the strip. The strip may comprise asbestos, cotton, rubberized or rubber impregnated fibrous or textile material, or non-metallic composite material in addition to the metal.
