Abstract

Articles which have to resist the action of oxygen at high temperatures are made from nickel-chromium alloys containing 10-30 per cent of chromium and up to 1,9 per cent of thorium. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes alloys consisting of one or more of the metals iron, cobalt, nickel and copper and an amount of thorium which preferably does not exceed 6 per cent, with or without other metals such as tantalum, tungsten or chromium; and it refers to the application of the alloys to electric resistances, crucibles, and bowls. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
