[Class 83 (i)] A centrifugal chill mould having an inner layer, centrifugally cast therein, of a metal having a coefficient of thermal expansion greater than that of the outer centrifugallycast layer or layers thus applying a tensile force to the inner layer when the mould is cold and a compressive force when hot, and preventing cracking thereof.
