469,388. Unit air conditioner ; refrigerating. NEWCON INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and YARROW, W. S. Nov. 23, 1935, No. 32538. [Class 137] [Also in Group XIII] A self-contained airconditioning apparatus includes an absorption refrigerating unit the evaporator of which is utilized to cool the air in a room, while the absorption heat is utilized to condition the same air. A cabinet 1 is made with partitions forming passages 2, 4, 3, and 6 in which are situated a heater 7, an absorber 8, a condenser 9, and an evaporator 10 respectively. Air drawn through an opening 13 by a fan 14 passes, with the flaps 18 and 19 in the position shown through passages 3 and 4, and part is heated by the absorber and mixes with the air from passage 3 on the way to the condenser 9 and outlet 17 to the room or to the outside. The air in the passage 5 passes over the fins of the evaporator 10 to the outlet 15 into the room. With the flap 19 open, the air is heated by the absorber, and cooled to deposit excess moisture before use. The air may be heated by the condenser before being cooled, or may be cooled first by the evaporator and heated bv the absorber or condenser. Filters may be fitted in the passages 3, 4, and 5.
