Abstract

844,876. Air conditioning. WEATHERFOIL HEATING SYSTEMS Ltd., and DAWSON, H. L. Sept. 1, 1958 [Aug. 1, 1957], No. 24398/57. Class 137 A unit air conditioning apparatus comprises two units housing a condenser and an evaporator respectively for a refrigerator linked by a frame at their top edges in such a manner that the frame can rest on a window sill whilst the two units hang one inside and one outside the room to be conditioned. The flow of refrigerant may be reversed to interchange the position of the condenser and evaporator depending upon the prevailing conditions and as shown, the two units are housed in casings 11 and 12 inside and outside the room respectively linked by a frame 16. Casing 11 contains a coil 35 which acts as an evaporator during hot weather over which air is blown by a fan and casing 12 contains a coil which acts as a condenser in hot weather over which air is blown by a fan 67, a compressor 58, a solenoid operated valve 81 for reversing the flow of refrigerant and a diaphragm pump 91 for removal of condensed moisture from the tray 39 beneath the evaporator 35.
