Abstract

468,443. Spectacles &c. CRIER, F. L. Jan. 3, 1936, No. 256. [Class 97 (i)] A nose-pad for eyeglasses comprises a hollow metal shell 1 having a flange 2 and receiving a deformable member 5, which may be a thin rubber container for liquid &c. 6 or may consist of sponge rubber. A screw 3 passing through the shell 1 can be adjusted to apply, through a plate 4, a variable pressure to the member 5. A celluloid &c. nose-engaging member 7 is pressed into contact with the surface of the member 5 by a cover 10 having means such as lugs 11 for securing it over the flange 2. The member 7 is provided with projections 8 to engage the nose, these projections having laterally-inclined faces 9, Fig. 9, to prevent the guard from slipping.
