Abstract

467,952. Work - holders. RENAULT, L. Nov. 9, 1936, No. 30539. Convention date, Jan. 17. [Class 83 (iii)] In clamping a work-piece of metal or wood on a machine &c. the clamping pressure is supplied by a flexible tube inserted between two, parts of the clamp and adapted to be expanded by fluid pressure. A movable jaw 6, is attached to a stationary part 4 of the machine by springs 8 which tend to raise the jaw and a rubber &c. tube 5 is placed in opposed grooves in the parts 4, 6. On applying pressure by means of a pipe 10 the jaw is pressed downwards to clamp a plate 1 against a fixed jaw 2.
