[Class 112] [Also in Group XXX] In an installation for the production of large quantities of articles such as boot and shoe uppers, four endless conveyers 1 ... 4 are arranged side by side between two rows of sewing machines 20, 21. Pivoted arms are arranged to be swung across the conveyers 1, 2, 3 to stop'a container transported by the conveyers at any desired station. The fourth conveyer travels at a higher speed and normally articles conveyed thereby are not intercepted. The direction of movement of one of the conveyers may be reversed at will.
