Abstract

975,159. Endless conveyers. DEERING MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORPORATION. Oct. 1, 1962 [Oct. 6. 1961], No. 37131/62. Heading B8A. Bobbins B are fed in correct orientation into pockets 21g on an endless conveyer belt 21 as described in Specification 928,882 and are carried up an upwardly inclined run 21a, along a horizontal run 21b and then along a horizontal return run 21c, below the run 21b, past a plurality of user stations 59. The conveyer 21 and the bobbins B therein are guided and supported by plates 55b and 55a, 55c round the curve connecting runs 21b, 21c and along run 21c. An opening 61a cut in plate 55c is of such a width that undesirably short bobbins Bs fall from the conveyer 21 while standard length bobbins B pass over supported at both ends. Each user station 59 has a slot 59a, cut through plate 55c, large enough to pass a bobbin B, with a gate 63 secured on a pivot shaft 63a so that when the gate 63 is open bobbins may fall into a shoot 65. An apron belt 37 keeps unused bobbins in the pockets 21g of the conveyer 21 along run 21d to return them for recirculation. Belt 37 is driven by friction of belt 21; slight slip between the belts acts to clean belt 21.
