Abstract

467,248. Thermionic cathodes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Sept. 6, 1935, No. 24882. Void. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] A cathode comprises a refractory foundation metal coated with a compound such as the oxide of thorium, uranium, titanium, cerium or zirconium, or with mixtures of these com- 'pounds. The coating may be applied in a liquid suspension which may be dried on. The cathode may be used in a rectifier having a filling of argon at 1 mm.
