466,530. Refrigerating. TRIGGS, W. W. (Allyne International, Ltd.) March 10, 1936, No. 7191. [Class 29] Absorption machines.-In an intermittent absorption refrigerating machine comprising a generator absorber 5, evaporator 18 and condenser 25, the latter consists of a receiver above which is connected a heat-exchanger 28 and below which are connected circulating passages 24, the incoming vapour from the evaporator being led by pipe 22 into the circulating passages to promote circulation. The heat-exchanger part of the apparatus may alternatively be formed of separate finned U tubes, or be of the concentric cylinder type. The vapour driven off in the generator 5, passes through a liquid trap 8 and a rectifier 12 to the evaporator 18, and thence to the condenser 25. A drain back pipe 34 is provided to return solvent from the evaporator to the generator.
