Abstract

465,880. Valves. VICKERS (AVIATION), Ltd., and EASTES, J. C. Nov. 15, 1935, No. 31665. [Class 135] A valve for high pressure hydraulic systems comprises a rotary disc member c with transfer passages in its seating surface co-operating with inlet and outlet ports and passages b<3>, b<4>, b<5> in the seating surface of the valve body b. The valve member is actuated by a toothed rack m and is held against its seating when the pressure ports are closed by a spring i which acts through a thrust bearing e. When the pressure ports are open the lifting pressure on the valve disc is increased, and to compensate for this increase the outlet pressure is taken to a cylinder a<1> and acts upon a ram j to increase the loading on the valve. The passages b<3>, b<4>, b<5> comprise pressure outlet, exhaust, and pressure inlet passage, respectively, of the hydraulic system.
