Abstract

465,080. Fastenings for bags. COLUMBIA PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and LAITMAN, M. April 29, 1936, No. 12169. [Class 44] [Also in Group XVII] In a vanity bag having a closuring device of the kind in which the hem 3 around the mouth encloses a cord &c. for the engagement of a number of clips 4 which span the mouth edge to hold the same together, the clips 4 being attached to a flexible connector 7, the metal &c. clips 4 extend over and above the mouth edge and depend at 5 in close contact with the bag material below the corded mouth edge, being attached to the connector e.g. by loops 6, so that the edges of the mouth are covered, in the closed position, to prevent ingress of dust &c. The connector 7 is preferably provided with a spine 9 and flanged portions 10. The end clip 8 is fixed to the bag.
