Abstract

166,432. Jones, J. R. Morris-. June 16, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Capes.-A waterproof cape, adapted to be folded within a hat and to be let down to cover the wearer's shoulders, when required, comprises a cape-portion 1, provided with suitable fasteners 3 down the front edges, and having a band 2 at its upper end, to which is secured a hood-portion 4. The hood has a hem at its upper edge 5, and is threaded on a curved wire rod 6, which extends round the back and sides of the hat 8, and is detachably secured thereto by clips 9. The opposite ends of the hem in the upper edge of the hood are connected by an elastic strip 11, which retains the hood in either the open position, Fig. 2, or the gathered position, Fig. 4. When not in use, the cape is folded into the crown of the hat, as shown in Fig. 4, and secured by elastic bands 12.
