Abstract
463,956. Inertia switches. KOCHMANN, W. Oct. 5, 1935, No. 27566. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXI] A shock-actuated switch, Fig. 2, comprises weights 5 separated by a weak spring 4 and carrying self-locking contacts 6a, 6b in a circuit 17. Normally, the weights are controlled by a wire 9 which shears under an impact of a certain magnitude. The wire may be ruptured by a manually-controlled cutter 11 to render the device more sensitive. Another switch, Fig. 3, consists of a metal ball 13 held centrally in a metal casing 12 by curved, frangible, struts 14 of insulating material, the ball and casing being connected in a circuit 15.
