Abstract
462,948. Frictional pocket igniters ; cigarette &c. cases. FERNANDEZ, J. June 26, 1936, No. 17791. [Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] The friction - wheel 3 is operated by pressure of the operator's finger on a member 8 carried by a support 7, journalled on the pivot 6 of the wheel, a tooth 12, or a series of teeth, on the member being engaged by the initial movement of the latter with a toothed wheel 14 on the side of the wheel 3. The member may be pivoted at 9 and controlled by a spring 10, or it may be resiliently mounted, or it may. be a resilient member fixed at one end, and it may be provided with a catch 16 for locking the igniter in the closed position. A spring device may be provided for returning the support 7 to the normal position. The wickcap 18 may be rigidly mounted on the support, or resiliently mounted as by means of a rubber strip. The igniter may be combined with a cigarette case 20, preferably provided with a spring for retaining cigarette packets of different sizes, or extended to form a case for a lipstick 22. In the latter case, the screwplugs 2, 5 for the filling opening and the flinttube are provided in the sides, or the lipstick is narrower than the casing and the flint tube extends to the bottom.
