Pocket igniters, frictional. - The friction-wheel c and a lever f carrying a wick-cap g are mounted on a common shaft d in the forked-end e' of the tube e containing the spring-pressed flint, the lever f having a slot f<2>, through which the friction-wheel c projects, and an end-piece f<3> adapted to be engaged by the finger so as to raise the wickcap when the friction-wheel is operated. The shaft d passes freely through the friction-wheel c and the fork e<1> and is secured at its ends to the lever f so that the latter is held in the open or closed position by the spring acting upon the flint. The tube e is mounted in a tube e<3> in the petrol reservoir a. The wickcap g may be pivoted at g<1>, or soldered, to the lever f. The wick-cap b is mounted in a screwplug h soldered to a tube h<2>, containing absorbent material and communicating through one or more capillary moles h<3> with the reservoir a.
