Abstract
460,496. Electric clocks. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 6, 1936, No. 18731. Convention date, July 4, 1935- [Class 139] In a synchronous motor driven clock, a relay armature 11, normally held up by stray flux from the motor field or by a relay in series or parallel with the motor circuit, is retracted at current interruptions to close contacts 13 in the circuit of a signalling lamp 14. The lamp may be in circuit with a battery 15, Fig. 5, in which case it lights immediately, or it may be connected between one of the mains and a tapping on the motor field coil 1 in which case the lamp will light when the voltage supply is again resumed to indicate that a stoppage has occurred. A low voltage or a glow discharge lamp is used and is located behind an aperture in the dial 12.
