Abstract

459,495. Electric incandescent lamp bulbs. EMSLANDER, M., 190, Vottingerstrasse, Freising, Germany. Aug. 18, 1936, No. 22742. [Class 39 (ii)] An anti-dazzle electric lamp bulb of the kind provided with concentric bands of different colours, for use more particularly in motor car headlights, is made lenticular and provided with coloured bands which are separated by bands of substantially clear glass. The curvature of the bulb may be continuous, as shown in the example, or stepped to define sharply the coloured and clear bands. The coloured bands g, f, e, d and clear bands h may be provided only on that portion of the bulb which is directed towards the reflector a in which the bulb is mounted, the front i being left clear, or the bands may extend throughout the bulb. The colours are incorporated in the glass from which the bulb is blown, and are of light shades of colours which are preferably of long wave length, such as red, orange, and green.
