Abstract

340,904. Vehicle lamps. BLACKWOOD, M. E., Beckington Abbey, near Bath. April 14, 1930, No. 11818. [Class 75 (iv).] Mounting electric lamps in lanterns.-In a head-lamp h a v - ing a main bulb 3 and a supplementary coloured bulb 6 for altern a t i v e illumination, the bulb 6 is coloured green or otherwise over all its surface except for a small front area 6a, so that the reflector 2 reflects green light only from that bulb, and white light or other contrasting stronger light is projected on the road in front of the vehicle. The switch is arranged so that the lamp 6 is switched on before the lamp 3 is switched off. The lamp 6 may be carried in a socket 7 in the reflector as shown in Fig. 1, or as shown in Fig. 2 by a curved hollow rod 14 which fits at one end 16 over the neck of the lamp 3. The lamp 3 may also be of green or other colour.
