Anon. pour les Applications de l'ElectricitÚ et des Gaz Rares Etablissements Claude-Paz & Silva; 8, Rue Cognacq-Jay, Paris) Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4548. Addition to 450,035. [Class 39 (i)] Electrodes for high - pressure metal - vapour lamps according to the parent Specification and comprising a spiral with the turns almost touching consist of two ribbons, one within the other in a spiral; the inner ribbon is of a metal of the nickel or platinum groups and the outer ribbon is longer and of refractory metal and both ribbons are oxide coated except on the outside of the outer turn of the outer ribbon. A nickel ribbon 2, Fig. 1, is soldered at points 4 to a tantalum ribbon 3 and the ribbons are rolled up as in Fig. 2 so that the inner ribbon becomes crimped to form cavities for oxide. A tungsten leading- in wire 1 is provided.
