Abstract
458,918. Electromagnetic switches. VEREINIGTE EISENBAHN - SIGNAL WERKE GES., Blockwerk, Siemensstadt, Berlin. Sept. 8, 1936, No. 24531. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1935. Addition to 448,549. [Class 38 (v)] In the relay arrangement described in the parent Specification, the condenser 4 controlling the operation of the relay is arranged to be short-circuited by the wheeloperated contacting device 3 and is connected in parallel with the relay 1. Thus, the condenser is charged under normal conditions, but is short-circuited simultaneously with the relay when the contacting device 3 is operated. When the contacting device is again opened the condenser will be again charged but the relay will not receive any appreciable current before the condenser charging operation is completed, so ensuring that at high speeds an extended period of the relay operation is obtained. A series resistance 2 is included in the current supply circuit.
