Abstract

458,796. Road - traffic signals on vehicles. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and LUCAS, O., Great King Street, Birmingham. June 28, 1935, No. 18519. [Class 118 (ii)] A switch is reset by a pawl engaging a member moved by the steering wheel, the pawl being normally housed in a channel from which it is moved by the locking device of the switch. When the switch arm k is moved into one of its operating positions the spring pressed ball g enters one of the channels o (as shown in the Figure), and forces the relative pawl r into the path of the projection t which is moved with the steering wheel. As the turn is being made the projection t slips past the pawl r but when the steering wheel is being returned, the projection t forces the pawl r back into the channel o so that the locking ball g is forced out of the channel o, and the switch arm k is reset by springs l. In its normal position the ball g engages the central recess p.
