[Class 118 (ii).] In a switch-device for controlling directionindicating means on a motor vehicle, operable by hand and restored by movement of the steering-wheel, the switch-operating spindle e is mounted on a fixed member a and carries a pair of plates k between which are pivoted two pawls l. On rotation of the operating-lever f in either direction, one of the pawls moves outward under spring-action owing to a peg n reaching the end of one of a pair of guide-arms p, so that during restoration of the steering- wheel after movement in the corresponding direction, the projection c engages the end of the displaced pawl and restores the spindle e to normal. Spring plungers g on member a cooperate with depressions h on a plate i to prevent accidental movement of the switch spindle from its unoperated position.
