Abstract

458,621. Mudguards for perambulators &c. WASDELL, W. A., and CHATWIN, G. F., Holdford Road Works, Holdford Road, Witton, Birmingham. Oct. 5, 1935, No. 27533. [Class 136 (i)] Mudguards for perambulators, juvenile road vehicles, &c. are detachably secured to an axle by means of a clip comprising a resilient member 6 having a seating to engage the axle 7, and limbs 8 to engage slidably within a rigid member 4 carried by the stays 2, such engagement causing the limbs 8 to be gripped and the seating to grip the axle 7 by contraction. The rigid member 4 is a rectangular socket, and the resilient member 6 is a substantially U-shaped spring whose limbs 8 are concaved to provide pairs of gripping edges 10. The socket 4 is riveted in a recess 3 formed in the central portion of integral stays 2. In a modification, the seating is rectangular to engage an axle of like cross-section.
