Abstract
456,682. Bowden mechanism; flexible tubing. TERRY & SONS, Ltd., H., and TERRY, C., Lodge Road, Redditch, Worcestershire. July 13, 1935, No. 20057. [Class 80 (iii)] [See also Group XXVIII] Flexible metallic tubing of the kind formed from a plurality of helically intercoiled wires or strips a, b ; d, e is characterized by an open-wound interior helical coil c, coaxially disposed within the tubing and which may constitute a guide for a flexible power - transmission or like interior cable. The coil may merely be in close contact with the interior of the tube, Fig. 1, or may lie in a groove e<1> formed in one of the members of the tube, Fig. 2. In a modification, the coil is formed as an integral projection from one of the helically wound members of the tube.
