Flexible metal tubes.-Flexible metallic tubing is formed at one or each end in such a manner that there is an increase of flexibility from the end inwards in order to reduce the tendency to break. The tube a is made by coiling one or more strips of metal, and may be protected by a braiding b of tarred twine &c. and a braiding d of steel wire &c. At the ends a number of braiding c<2>, c<3>, c<4> of steel wire &c. arranged stepwise serve to increase progressively the rigidity, an outer coil or covering e for the whole tube being also provided.
