455,635. Acoustic wave filters. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Marshall, R. N.; 115, North 6th Street, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A.) April 24, 1935, No. 12391. Convention date, April 25, 1934. Addition to 382,268. [Class 13] [See also Group XXXIX] Comprises a number of improvements in the device claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification in which an acoustic path between the two sides of the diaphragm of a sound-translating device has acoustic mass and stiffness so proportioned that the sound waves are reinforced at low frequencies. As shown in Fig. 1, the casing 51 of a moving-coil microphone is divided by a partition 107 into compartments connected acoustically by a tube 108 and both open to the outer air through perforated end covers 53, 56. In a modification, Fig. 13, the acoustic path from the rear to the front of the diaphragm is by way of the air gap in the magnetic circuit and a tube 170 open to the outer air. In modifications, Figs. 17 to 21 and 22 to 24 (not shown), the tube is coiled within the casing. Specification 388,069, [Group XXXIX], is referred to.
