Abstract
455,263. Disc mills. FONT, J. M., San Pedro de Vilamajor, Barcelona, Spain. April 1, 1936, No. 9584. Convention date, April 11, 1935. [Class 59] In a grinding-mill comprising two grinding discs engaging the ends of a stationary slotted annulus, an initial crushing stage is provided by a rotary member in the annulus, rotating with either or both of the discs, and having a periphery adapted to co-operate with the inner periphery of the annulus. As shown, the mill comprises rotary toothed discs 23, 24 mounted on a square part 20 of a rotary shaft 15 and a co-operating, stationary annulus 21 having teeth on both side faces to interengage with the teeth on the discs. The annulus 21 is perforated through its periphery to form a feed inlet to the discs and its internal surface 26 is ribbed to form with the square shaft 20 a preliminary grinding chamber. The two discs are moved relatively toward one another by spring pressure, the spring being housed in a slotted sleeve 30 adjustable axially on the shaft 15 by a cotter pin 32 and secured in position by a nut 31 and locking balls 33.
