Abstract
454,828. Frictional pocket igniters. EDENBURG, J., 22, Kõrchergasse, Vienna. Feb. 7, 1936, No. 3766. Convention date, Feb. 7, 1935. [Class 75 (iii)] In an igniter in which the wick is ignited automatically when the fuel reservoir 13 is pulled out of the casing 1, the reservoir 13 is recessed at 14 for engaging during withdrawal a cam 6 on a rotatable disc 5, connected by a one-way ratchet coupling 5, with the friction-wheel 15, so as to move a bolt 10 over the dead centre and allow the disc to be rotated rapidly by a spring 9. On re-inserting the reservoir into the casing, the mechanism is re-set by the engagement of the reservoir with a hooked lever 7, pivoted on a bolt 8. The bolts 8, 10 are mounted in a slot 11 in the disc 5. The sheet metal carrier 2 of the mechanism is secured in the casing by screws &c., and may be pivoted at 16 so that it can be swung through an aperture in the side wall of the casing.
