Abstract
454,814. Photographic diazotype processes. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Oct. 7, 1935, No. 27661. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1934. [Class 98 (ii)] Layers containing a diazonium compound, a coupling component and a substance of alkaline reaction, and capable of development by the action of water vapour only are provided with a substance which upon development of the image yields a difficultly-soluble hydroxide while removing the excess of alkalinity. The latter may be an additional substance or may be the alkaline compound, e.g. calcium silicate. One or more of the reacting substances can be applied as powders. In examples: (1) paper is painted with a solution of the zinc chloride double salt of 4-diphenylaminodiazonium chloride and rubbed with a powder of phloroglucin and calcium silicate. To increase the speed of development anhydrous soda may also be applied; (2) paper is painted with a solution of dimethylamino-benzene diazonium boron fluoride and rubbed with a mixture of aluminium sulphate, calcium oxide, and #- naphthol. Or the aluminium sulphate may be applied in solution and anhydrous soda used in place of calcium oxide ; (3) paper is painted with a solution of the diazonium compound of example (1) and rubbed with a powder of sodium aluminate and #-naphthol with or without anhydrous soda; and (4) a powder of anhydrous soda, aluminium sulphate, talc, phloroglucin, the zinc chloride double salt of p-diphenylaminodiazonium chloride and flour is applied to paper.
