953,925. Diazo type processes. KALLE A.G. July 24, 1961 [July 29, 1960], No. 26737/61. Heading G2C. A developer for diazotype printing plates consists of an aqueous solution of an organic or inorganic alkaline substance containing in addition 0.001% to 0.05% by weight in total of one or more of a dissolved salt, oxide, or hydroxide of beryllium, mercury, calcium, strontium, barium, bismuth, or lanthanum. The alkaline substance may be waterglass, sodium metasilicate, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide di- or tri-ethylamine, ethanolamine, di- or tri-ethanolamine, and the salts of the metals may be halides, nitrates, or salts of aliphatic mono- and poly-carboxylic acids. Complex formers, and water soluble substances of high molecular weight may also be present. It is stated that images obtained when using light-sensitive diazo compounds are more resistant to attack by the solution when the metallic compounds are present.
