[Class 20 (iv)] The reinforcing rods B of a reinforced concrete floor of the all-concrete or hollow block types are located in correct position by means of strip members which are disposed edgewise relatively to the undersurface of the floor and transversely, or substantially so, with respect to the axis of the rods, the depth of the strips being not less than the diameter of the rods. The strips A may be of W- or V-shape in plan, and, when of V-shape, are arranged, as shown in cross-section in Fig. 2 and in plan in Fig. 3, on the centring between the hollow blocks C, which are disposed in spaced rows. The concrete is cast in the spaces between the rows of blocks to form reinforced concrete beams D. In the case of an all-concrete floor, the strips may be continuous and formed of zigzag mild steel members E which may be expanded to the form shown in Fig. 6 from the collapsed condition shown in Fig. 4. In either of the above forms of strip, one or both edges may be of serrated or other shape.
