Abstract

453,066. Thermal switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd.. Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and HUMPHREYS, O. W., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Wembley, Middlesex. April 8, 1935, No. 10831. [Class 38 (v)] A thermal switch comprises a fixed contact 13 movable into and out of engagement with a fixed contact 14 by means of a leaf spring system 10, 11, 12 actuated by relative expansion of a rod 16 and tube 17. The temperature of operation is controlled by the axial movement of a screw-threaded spindle 9 rotatable by a knob 1, and the limits of .this adjustment are determined by two arms such as 3, carried by the knob 1 engageable with a fixed stop 5. The arms 3 are carried on rings 15, 6 and can bo clamped in any positions by a locking ring 7 to alter the range of adjustment. In a modification, the stop may engage the adjustable ends of arcuate recesses or slots in the flange of knob 1.
