The carrier comprises one or more parts each consisting of curved body members 49 shaped to support a fowl, with lateral arms 50 to embrace the sides, and inclined members 48 supporting the fowl from the opposite side. The cover 26 of the oven is provided with a funnel 29 for basting fat, which is distributed over the food by tubes 30, 31, 32, the drippings being deflected by a shield 46 on the bottom of the carrier 45 into an annular drip-pan 36, whence they pass by a conduit 35 terminating in a bowl 39 to the outside of the apparatus.
