Abstract
450,762. Heating water. ROBINSON, T., 127, Ramsden Road, Wardle, Rochdale, Lancashire. Jan. 19, 1935, No. 1816. [Class 64 (i)] In a pipe connection unit secured to a hot water boiler by a flanged extension b through which passes a dip-pipe f seated within an extension e, the pipe f is eccentrically located within the extension b so as to lessen obstruction in the passage leading to other extensions c, d. The pipe f is flanged and detachable and is inserted to engage a seating f<1> in the outer end of the coupling. The extension e may serve as cold water inlet or for return flow, hot water being withdrawn at extension c for a radiator and at d for domestic use. A safety valve may be attached to an extension not required, and the unit may be formed without extension d. Cold water enters (by pipe v, Fig. 6), a hot water tank, and passes by the pipe f to the boiler whence it flows to the tank by the extensions b, c and by an arm w on extension d.
