Abstract
434,900. Heating water. WILLIAMS, J. R., Ynisderw Road, Pontardawe, Swansea. July 21, 1934, No. 21385. [Class 64 (i)] In a domestic hot water supply system comprising an open cistern 11 connected by flow and return pipes 12, 13 to a boiler and in which the cold water supply 18 is connected directly to the return pipe 13 by aT-joint 14 as described in Specification 135,790, [Class 64 (i)], the T-piece 14 comprises a main cylindrical pipe 15 for connection at 16 to the return pipe 13, a branch pipe 17 formed integrally therewith entering the main pipe at right angles and curved at its outer end to lie parallel therewith for connection to the supply pipe 18 ; a lip 25 formed integrally with the pipe 15 projects into the throughway thereof above the branch pipe to direct water downwardly. A flattened cylindrical funnel 19 is fixed to the top of the supply pipe 18 below a float-controlled supply valve 24 and is fixed to the side of the cistern. The cistern has a hot water draw-off pipe 21 and an overflow pipe 22.
