Abstract
479,544. Heating by circulation of fluids. STURTEVANT ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and MARGOLIS, A. E. Oct. 27, 1936, No. 29160. [Classes 64 (i) and 64 (ii)] Water drawn from a boiler 11 through a pipe 6 for supply to the main 12 of a superheated hot-water heating system is cooled by direct contact with cold return water entering the pipe through perforations 16 in an inner pipe 7 at the end of the return main 13. The perforated part of the inner pipe may be surrounded by a fixed slotted sleeve for regulating the flow of the return water into the outer pipe by rotation of the inner pipe. The flow and return pipes of a number of boilers are connected together to equalize the water levels in the boilers.
