[Class 135] [See also Group XI] A combined valve and electric switch for use in connection with igniting devices for gas burners comprises a spring- loaded lift valve 6 for controlling the gas supply to one or more pilot burners and a movable electric contact 12 adapted to engage a fixed contact 11 to establish a circuit through an igniting filament for the pilot jet. Both valve and switch are simultaneously operated by a push button 13. The switch is housed in a shallow recess formed in a T-shaped head 2 on the valve casing, which head is adapted to be secured to the inner side of a part of the gas consuming appliance in such a manner that the push button projects through the said part.
