Abstract
449,780. Radiator stoves. GUNN, W., Sunnyside, Macclesfield Road, Wilmslow, Cheshire. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5556. [Class 126] A self-contained radiator comprises a water - holding vessel a divided into two or more chambers by one or more partitions b extending from the upper part nearly to the floor, a flash boiler d immediately below or forming part of the floor of the vessel with a lamp e or other device for heating it, one or more small-bore tubes f extending from beneath the water-level in the vessel a to the boiler d and provided with a control valve f and one or more pipes g delivering steam from the boiler d to the space above the water in the vessel a. The partition b allows the water-level to rise and fall differentially in the chambers 1, 2, under the varying pressure of the steam. Air vents are provided in the two chambers, that in the chamber 2 being formed in the apparatus shown by a pipe f<2> which is controlled by the valve f<1>., The flash boiler may be formed by a tube connected to, or forming a part of, the tubes f, g. In a modification having such a tubular boiler a flue extends above the heating device through the vessel a. In a further modification, two partitions divide the chamber into three, steam-pipes extending from the boiler to the upper parts of each of the outer chambers.
