Abstract

449,702. Dual - control for aircraft. BENDIX, Ltd., and LAMBERT, A. W., King's Road, Tyseley, Birmingham. Feb. 20, 1935, No. 5406. [Class 4] Aircraft landing- wheel brakes can be applied from the instructor's seat through a movable member with which is associated a relatively movable part operable from the pupil's seat and normally locked to the movable member by a catch or detent which can be disengaged at will by a control operated from the instructor's seat. As shown, the landing-wheel brakes are applied by the instructor through a cable g, a plunger b and a cable c. The cable g is connected to the plunger by means of a nipple kslidable in a bore in the plunger. Cables h,j, lead to the pupil's brake lever and rudder bar and are releasably connected to the plunger b by rollers r and plungers n which are connected to the cables h, j by slidable nipples m. Springs p urge the barrel b to its inoperative position. The plungers n are freed from the plunger on actuation, by the instructor, of a plunger u by a cable w against the action of a spring v.
