Abstract
448,865. Water-tube steam boilers; steam superheaters. BLOXAM, A. G., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Combustion Engineering Co., Inc. ; 200, Madison Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Dec. 10, 1934, No. 35450. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii)] In a boiler having furnace-wall tubes 2 and convection heated tubes 6 protecting a superheater 16 arranged above the furnace, the superheater is controlled by a damper 11 in a byepass at the side of the pass containing the superheater. The convection heated tubes extend through the byepass to a heater 5 connected to the boiler drum 3 by tubes 7. An economizer 21 may be placed in the down-pass between the downcomer tubes 8, 9. A superheater or a reheater may be substituted for the economizer and these may be provided with byepass dampers as described in Specifications 338,577, [Class 123 (ii)], and 404,537.
