[Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii)] [See also Group V] In the manufacture of furnace bricks of the kind having a hard fire-resisting face A and a heat-insulating porous backing B, the backing, Fig. 3, or the face, Fig. 4, is moulded with a key projection D on one side and is then burnt, the facing layer A, Fig. 3, or the porous backing B, Fig. 4, being subsequently moulded around the projection and the entire composite brick burnt.
